My Experience With Canine Parvovirus

I don't remember when Julia was exactly diagnosed with Canine Parvovirus, but I can tell you that the symptoms were really uncomfortable and stressful for both the pet suffering and the owner. One day, we noticed that Julia had vomited and her stool was very watery 😖. Her face was also swollen. She was also unusually droopy. But then we thought that she ate something bad from the trash at the backyard and we just gave her some medicine. But we stopped her from going to the backyard and still had a little bit of concern for her. Then the next day, she could not move AT ALL due to lethargy!! We gave her treats at a distance and tried to play with her to make her move but nothing was working! Except when she felt too cold or too hot in one place and she walks and lays down somewhere, she did not move much. At this point, we were REALLY WORRIED!! We gave her porridge, but she couldn't eat at all, she just sniffed it and went away. Fortunately, our neighbor was a veterinary nurse.  hospital. WHEW!! We called her and she said to go to the hospital. But since it was around June or some month nearby and the coronavirus was really fierce at that time that even humans struggled to go outside for necessary things, let along a puppy. So we were kind of helpless, trying to give her medicines and everything else, except taking her to the hospital. But we had another neighbor who wasn't a veterinary nurse or anything related to animals, but she loved Julia very much. So she called us often and asked about Julia and came to see her often. The watery stool and vomit didn't stop, by the way. One day, she was so tired that drool started to fall from her mouth😳. Luckily, the second neighbor's relative[who is a dog owner] had just dropped to our house to see how is Julia. He told us that she is REALLY sick and we have to take her to the hospital no matter what. He also told us meanwhile to keep Julia under the sun since her temperature is below normal. Hence, we have got to keep her hot, which was tiring since when we cover her with a cloth and keep her under the sun like a swaddled baby, she's like: WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TO ME!?!!? Then she'll run away!! Then finally, my dad took her to a hospital that afternoon, and when they reached the hospital, she hopped out of the car and followed the nurse relieved and knowing that she is gonna be relieved of this virus😂😂Then after a long time, dad came back and told that they've admitted Julia into the hospital. He also said that we can check in on Julia every evening by calling the hospital. It took about a week when she came back. And BOY, weren't we happy😁😄!!
p.s: My dear dog owners and friends, I've seen in Wikipedia that Canine parvovirus can come through mouth contact with poop💩, infected soil or formites that carry the disease!! So please be careful about your pet, because even cats can get Feline parvovirus!! It can kill even the smallest of puppies and kittens!!
