All That Glitters Is NOT....

GOLD!
We always see the bright side of everything that we see. We see the big muscles of a bodybuilder, the awesome songs of a singer, the full marks of a student, and the bright side of almost everything that we see. We never see the huge amount of times that bodybuilder gets cramps, that awesome singer gets throat pain and that topper gets low marks. Actually, this picture shows it all:

So today I will tell you one of my friend's life experiences that you should make sure that you never do. #All names are changed [except for mine!] and the people in this story are not revealed in this story.

A few weeks after I joined my Kalaripayattu class, #Ravi joined. He was first really excited to see our Kalari [the room in which people practice Kalaripayattu], the weapons that our Gurukkal [Kalaripayattu teacher] kept in the corner of the Kalari, the jumping and sitting in Kalaripayattu, etc. But like most activities, Kalaripayattu too began with simple, boring steps that didn't require much jumping or anything. While our seniors were practicing Kolthari [the art of fighting with long wooden sticks, which is actually very awesome to see but difficult to do, since now I practice Kolthari too, I can feel it], here I and Ravi were just trying to hit our hands on top of our feet while walking [which is by the way difficult but is the basic step in Kalaripayattu😨]. He wasn't even trying, according to our Gurukkal. With all the scolding, beatings and embarrassments caused by Gurukkal, he became worse in Kalaripayattu. He even started lying on why he was late to come to the Kalari. Our Gurrukal is really tough. He scolds really well that anybody's mind will go blank. He also beats us sometimes in extreme cases. I had to bear all this to study Kalaripayattu properly. This is not just my Gurukkal, almost every Kalaripayattu Gurukkal is gonna behave like this, I think. He became Gurukkal's second least favourite student.

Finally when Covid-19 came, everyone in my Kalari was excited😳!! Like if you were excited if a class you chose with your own preference were stopped, then why did you join the class in the first place?!?! Looks like I was the only student who was actually sad after the Kalari closed.

So, that's the end of this story, thank you so much for reading this story, hope you learned something from this story, and goodbye!!
